Awakening

 Awakening

I shook you into life.
You didn’t want to move,
safe in your little shell
of known routines and
narrow pleasures.
Been there, done that,
seen that on TV,
don’t need to make it
physical.
Too much mess, too much
planning, too much walking,
too much heat.
Those were your boundaries.
But I persisted,
made you see that
being there was important.
And here you are,
standing at the top of
the tower,
looking down and out at
the glittering world
spread before you.
How do you feel now, eh?
